Holistic Homebirth Care for Low-Risk Women
I provide compassionate, holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, blending clinical midwifery expertise with nurturing, intuitive practices

Whole-Person Midwifery Care

My approach honors every aspect of your experience—physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural. Each prenatal visit is a time to connect, assess, and tailor care to your unique needs. Labor and birth take shape through your lead. Postpartum care honors the slow and sacred time of newborn and mother.

Care includes:
• Extended unhurried prenatals with hands-on physical assessments as your primary maternity care provider
• Nutritional counseling & natural remedies to foster optimal health
• Emotional support & trauma-informed care & education
• Family centered wherein children are welcome and participatory
• Collaborative and personalized care planning

A Bridge Between Natural & Medical Worlds

I am a CPM, a RN and a graduate student pursing my CNM credentials. I strive to build bridges where they are needed within the broader healthcare network to ensure safe, comprehensive care. Independent midwifery allows for a personalized approach to care wherein systematic policy does not rule.

A balanced approach includes:
• Referrals to higher level care when needed
• A framework for ensuring labs, ultrasounds, or testing is done
• Encouragement of complementary therapies and intuitive processing
• Accountability within the scope of practice within NARM guidelines
• Protocols and practice guidelines for low risk women that clarify boundaries

I partner with trusted alternative care providers to support your mind-body wellness, including:
Acupuncturists
Bodyworkers & Chiropractors
Doulas
Together, we hold space for your transformation into motherhood with compassion and care.

• Freedom of movement and positioning
• Aromatherapy, vocalization, and music
• A calm, grounded environment for bonding and empowerment

The Sacred Postpartum

How to collaborate

INITIAL FREE Consultation

Entering a private midwifery relationship is different from hospital-based care. I accept a limited number of clients each month so I can offer fully present, individualized support. This 30-minute in-person or virtual consultation allows us to ensure we’re a good fit—aligned in expectations, and that your health and pregnancy are appropriate for out-of-hospital care within my scope.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Midwifery care is self-pay due to current CPM regulations in Pennsylvania, and I do not accept insurance. This includes the global fee and a non-refundable deposit to reserve your space. Additional expenses, such as birth kit supplies and lab testing, may apply and may be eligible for reimbursement. I do not work directly with insurance companies, but can provide an itemized bill; some clients have been able to receive reimbursement. Flexible payment plan options are available and will be discussed during your consultation. All fees are subject to change.
I’d love to connect, hear your vision for your birth, and see if I can offer the support you’re looking for. If home birth isn’t the right fit, we can explore other ways to support you along your journey.

What others are saying

She was the best medical professional, herbalist, spirit guide, lactation
consultant, postpartum support, friend, healer, and caretaker I could have ever asked to help guide me, my husband, and our family, through our first birth and homebirth. Meeting Chana is medicine for the soul and instantly will set your mind at ease as you work through the birthing experience. It’s allowed to be beautiful and the Maternal Wisdom Midwifery team is willing to pour the time, effort, and love into your experience to make it so. 10/10.

You have a calm confidence and a wealth of experience. We trusted you instantly. You have a great patience and a willingness to be present ath pushed me beyond momentary fears and into a palace of loving hope. Your sense of purpose pulled us through to the end. I can't stop this river of gratitude. It is because of you that the labor and birth of baby went just as it should have, and because of this satisfaction with the birth that our spirit has been bolstered to get through these first few days of vulnerability. Thank you for giving our baby a good start.
Anna
In my appointments with Chana, I always felt my concerns were actually heard and we focused on things my “traditional” prenatal appointments usually skirted around, such as nutrition, preventative care, and holistic care. I went from repeatedly hearing “When do you want to schedule your induction?” or “Are you sure you don’t want a repeat c-section?” in my traditional prenatal appointments to “You can do this!” in my appointments with Chana. Going from a place where you do not feel heard to a place where you feel safe and prepared completely changed my mindset. Chana does a really great job of focusing on preventative care. Overall, she was exceptionally proactive
instead of reactive, which I greatly appreciated.

I transferred to Chana’s care after my 20 week anatomy scan and she helped me to have the birth of my dreams. A sovereign, physiological birth is not only possible, it’s our birthright, and Maternal Wisdom Midwifery keeps that ideology at the forefront of their practice. Chana was there to empower me, educate me, be a resource, and to keep me safe while I explored the depths of my own power through birth and becoming a mother.

I’ve been a pediatric nurse for 10+ years and am pursuing my PhD, which is really where the spark for choosing a homebirth began. The more I researched home births – especially with my next birth being a vbac – the more interested I became. I had learned how low my chances for a vaginal birth would likely be in a hospital setting and I felt stuck. My doula recommended Chana from working with her previously and I switched care around month seven of my pregnancy. And let me tell you – my only regret was not switching sooner.
Chana is absolutely wonderful and helped create such a beautiful homebirth
experience! From prenatal appointments to postpartum visits, I received care that I hadn’t known was possible after going the typical OBGYN route with my first. I always felt informed on decisions being made in pregnancy & birth, and felt so supported through the whole process! She’s such a blessing to have in the Pittsburgh area and we feel so thankful we found her for prenatal care & birth!
